Richmond Junior Chess Club was founded in 1975 and over the years has produced many titled players including Grandmasters
such as Luke McShane and Jonathan Rowson.
We are committed to providing top level tuition and opportunities for competitive play for children of all ages
who are serious about chess.
We run separate weekly groups for beginners, novices, intermediate and advanced players as well as a monthly group for girls
and chess camps during school holidays.
We can also provide teachers for school chess clubs as well as tutors for private coaching for children of all ages.
Working together with other junior chess clubs in the area, we run representative teams in the English Primary Schools Chess Association Under 9, Under 11 and Girls championships.
This year we'll also be taking part in the Southern Counties Under 14 (age)/Under 130 (grade) championship.
We are currently considering the possibility of entering other leagues and team tournaments.
