Hampton Junior Chess Congress 2023

Richmond Juniors held a qualifying tournament on Saturday 14th October. The tournament was held at Orleans Park School. The results can be found at:

The qualifiers were as follows:

  • U8 – Djan Sennaroglu & William Lin (5½ pts), Edmond Cranfield, Timur Mursalimov, Rafael Amadeu Fernandes & Reyansh Kavalur (4)
  • U10 Major – Daniel Dupuis (5 pts), Theo Cleanis, Ravi Singh, Riaan Kumar & Iaroslav Bunbich (4½ pts)
  • U10 Minor – Thomas Ewart & Ian Molina (4 pts), Arjun Singh Patnaik, Theodore Tie, Chun Sun Aiden Chan, Ethan Norris, Alex Petrescu, Max Wen, Denis Mishenin, Henry Nguyen & Yunqi Zhai (3½ pts)
  • U12 Major – Yuk Hei Lee (5½ pts), Callum Hill, Dylan Flanagan, Rene Uzdin & Charlie Ray Pearson (4½ pts)
  • U12 Minor – Odin Flanagan & Armaan Rao (4 pts), Jacob Dalah, Lila O’Neill, Nicolas Arrojo-Garcia, Patrick Jiang, Noah Taylor, Mustafa Eryilmaz, Ethan Sharma-Wadeson & Rohan Ghugari (3½ pts).

Best Girl in the U8 was Harriette Yeung, in the U12 was Lila O’Neill.

The following numbers competed in each section:

  • U8 – 24
  • U10 – 34
  • U12 – 32
  • Total – 90

The Organiser and Chief Arbiter was Paul McKeown FA, the floor arbiters were David Okike and Adam Taylor, junior helpers were Joseph Williams, Xavier Cowan and Diego Cordova Lopez. The set-up in the morning was assisted by Aga Milewska and Modesta Sapkowska. Help was provided throughout the day by Orleans Park School’s Premises Team of Eddie and Med.

Twickenham U18 Congress 2022 Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th December

Richmond Juniors will hold an ECF and FIDE rated standard play for Under 18s to run parallel with the U8/U10/U12 qualifier for the London Junior Chess Championships. It will be held on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December. The time control will 60 minutes per player plus 30 seconds per move made.

The schedule for the tournament is:

Registration Saturday: 09:00
Round 1 Saturday: 09:30 – 12:30
Round 2 Saturday: 13:00 – 16:00
Round 3 Saturday: 16:30 – 19:30
Round 4 Sunday: 10:00 – 13:00
Round 5 Sunday: 14:00 – 17:00
