FIDE Master Bob Eames, who runs our Intermediate group, competed in the Over 50 section at the British Chess Championships. He finished 3rd equal with FM Chris Duncan and FM Andrew P Smith, each on 5 points from their 7 games. They finished behind GM Keith Arkell, who won with 6 points, and in second place FM Dave Ledger. Bob was in the joint lead going into the final round, but lost to the tournament winner, Grandmaster Keith Arkell, who finished with 6 point. FM Dave Ledger came 2nd with 5.5 points.
